4275 E La Paloma Tucson, AZ 85718
Originally built 1979/3624 sf/4 Beds/3 Baths/Pool-Spa/beautiful backyard and mountain views/4 car garage/$789,000/that’s $218/sf/on the north side of La Paloma Dr
(Listed by Long Realty)
Purchased in 2003 for $535,000 and, as far as I can tell, gutted and renovated top to bottom. And they didn’t go cheap, they used high quality materials throughout. I showed this house two or three times in the spring of 09 when it was $985,000 and marveled at the extensive renovation.
It was first listed in July 07 for $1.2. And it’s not a short sale or foreclosure. I met the owners a few times previewing and showing it. Really nice people, and I think they just threw in the towel and want to move on.

This is one of those deals where I really wish I had someone for it.
But I don’t. boo-hoo, and I bet it won’t last a week.

Yes Jack, after dropping $200k in asking price, at $789,000 it is a super duper deal,(not amazing, though) That is, considering the extent & quality of the renovation, the excellent burnt adobe original construction, the location, the views, etc.
But the best proof is that it went to contract 2 days after it was listed and I wrote that.
Current fair market price in the foothills depends completely on where and what it is that you're talking about. It cannot be applied across the board. Well, it can, but you do yourself a huge disservice if you do.

John,
Please educate me on this one, it did not sell for a 980k but is an amazing deal at 790k? It looks like a very nicely done remodeling job indeed but at 218 sq ft isn't it close to current fair market price? Maybe I am in present day buyer mentality...
