another icon bites the dust

and I don’t mean Elizabeth Taylor either,

I’m talking about 6959 N Javelina Drive, which has been with us through thick and thin since September 2003 when it was listed for $4,900,000 and it is now, after more than 7 years on the market, reported in contract off a $2,200,000 REO list price.

And while Javelina Drive was perhaps the longest running listing in the foothills, isn’t it ironic that when it sold just 2 years before, in 2001, it sold in 1 day for $2,800,000 off a $3,000,000 list price.

And here’s the current listing, marked as PENDING - which indicates that it is past the inspection period & sailing to COE – so a done deal. (it was not reported as under contract when it first went under contract. (listed by Santa Maria Realty)
